We Believe…

• God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit
• God is the one true God, holy, eternal, almighty, immortal, and unchanging, who eternally exists in three co-equal persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• Jesus Christ is the son of God, born of a virgin, is both fully God and fully man and is co-equal with the Father and Holy Spirit.
• The Holy Spirit indwells all believers and is fully divine, eternal, and co-equal with the Father and Son.
• The Bible is the perfect, divinely inspired word of God.
• Mankind was created in the image of God
• All of humanity – except Christ – has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
• All people are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
• Baptism is a sacred and essential act of obedience commanded by Jesus and faithfully practiced by the early Church.
• The church is the body of Christ and has been tasked with the mission of making disciples of Jesus.
• Cherokee Hills Christian Church affirms the doctrine of the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the bodily resurrection, the atoning work of Christ on the cross, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, salvation by grace through faith in Christ, and the distinctive nature of Christianity. When it comes to these essential doctrines, there are no conflicting opinions of those who call themselves true followers of Christ. We do acknowledge that there are non-essential doctrines, that are important, but not critical for salvation. In regard to these non-essential doctrines, we accept the commonly used statement of the restoration movement, “in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love.” While we allow for freedom in non-essentials, we do work diligently to establish positions as it relates to these non-essential doctrines, but we will not allow these non-essential doctrines to lead to division within the church.
