September Already!
It feels like 2026 is flying by. We are so thankful for the commitment you are making to your group by helping everyone see and follow Jesus. We hope every time you meet you have the opportunity to grow in your love for God and your love for others. I am praying for you right now!
This week we are continuing our Nehemiah series as we look deeper into the position of respect and honor Nehemiah held before the king. Nehemiah 2:8 says, “For the good hand of my God was upon me.” This week, we hope to pull back the veil just a little bit to see how God is orchestrating every part of Nehemiah’s story. Understanding how God is working in Nehemiah’s story reminds us that every story in the Old Testament is ultimately about God. We can learn from many characters, but the ultimate goal is knowing the God who has revealed himself to us. The questions for this week are below!
- How often does your life feel like a series of coincidental experiences?
- If you take the time to look back on your life, what experiences still feel coincidental, and what experiences were God working in a way you did not yet understand?
- Read Nehemiah 2:1 – 8.
- Why do you think Nehemiah takes the time to include this note about God at the end of the passage?
- How does understanding God as the main character in this OT story change the way you interpret it?
- If every story in the OT is ultimately about God, how does that begin to change the way you live your life, parent, or act as a friend?
