This week we will take a closer look at Nehemiah 10!

Nehemiah 10 outlines the details of the covenant that the people of Jerusalem make with God after reading the Law aloud and proclaiming God’s greatness. 

There are moments in our lives when making a covenant with the LORD is beneficial. We can make these covenants in many ways, from proclaiming Jesus as our Lord and Savior, to setting aside a period of time to fast from something, to holding ourselves accountable to specific actions. Covenants with God can be beneficial, even if they are only for a period, but we must be careful to uphold everything we promise to do.

1. Who is the most likely person in your life to uphold a promise they make to someone? What do you admire about them?
2. How well do you uphold the promises you make to others or yourself?
3. Read Nehemiah 10:28 – 29.
4. What can be learned from the covenant that the people of Jerusalem made with God?
5. Read Nehemiah 10:35 – 37.
6. What promises have you made to God that you have upheld? What about promises you have failed to keep?
7. What is a possible covenant you could make with God for this season of your life?
